Picked up a nice little goodie for Christmas....a nice little analog broadcast portable that has a little slider switch for AM, FM, then 67 and 92KHz sub carrier.
Here in the Portland area there seems to be only two channels that have programming on them, KBOO 90.7 with a Vietnamese or Korean broadcast, and then a Russian one on KBVM 88.3.
I don't yet have a 57KHz option to see what is out there, but from what I have found out 57 looks like it is for data and paging (those old Seiko Receptor watches, lottery machines, etc...). No Korean broadcasts here yet as I found out dominates the SCA airwaves in California. Who listens to this stuff and who hands out these receivers for prospective listeners? No reading for the blind or Physicians Radio Network here (probably anymore).
There are also some web pages out there that offer SCA kits for adding into pre-existing FM radios, might look into that for some of my other equipment.
YAY, more to listen to.
Anyone else out there have other odd voice or data stations in SCA?
