Hi: I ran across a nice little site about the medium wave towers and transmitters on Vashon and Maury Islands. It was written by a local fellow who grew up near them and whose father occasionally did work for some of the stations. It has pictures of the sites. Some of the transmitters have apartments which were used by the engineers. They must have come as part of the pay for the job. Anyhow, none of them are rented or occupied any more. Wonder if a guy could make some phone calls and ask around to see if one could be rented. Would be the perfect place for a radio goon to live. I would LOVE to live at the KVI - AM 570 Site. But Vashon might not be a great place to do AM DXing from. LOL |
