Sounds like they are stunting until tomorrow by playing more santa music http://www.kvi.com/

Word is they will go to a "smart talk" format that is partly local starting Tuesday.

Hardwick and Autry are both rolling over in their graves. RIP -- the once great KVI.

Its been all downhill since they got shredded by KTTH. Now its a cycle of reinventing themselves in a desperate search for ratings.

Oldies -- and Nostalgia - are still good viable radio formats for both AM and FM outlets. And - if any AM station has a GOOD power station and coverage -- like KVI -- it could work very well. Radio stations still need to be run as a "Team". Engineering and programming can make the station a winner - but it still takes sales to bring in the cash. Times are hard for Fisher and management is floating in a sea of deep mud.

Maybe "oldies" is being shredded by iPods. You can make your own oldies station by putting a couple of dozen oldies songs you link on an iPod and put it on shuffle so they come up randomly. You could play 'em through your system in your '57 Chevy if you wanted to, also.

Yeah, yeah, yeah... It's not radio but I'm guessing that is where a lot of formats are going to. Podcasts can also take the place of radio programs and features.
