It's on the air, currently broadcasting a live video feed of downtown Seattle. It appears that on January 3rd, it will be the new home of "Antenna TV", a start up network that will show old sitcoms.
From the Chicago Tribune:
"Tribune Co. launching digital subchannel Antenna TV network
For those with those who watch TV via an antenna, there's Antenna TV.
Tribune Co., following the lead of WCIU-Ch. 26 parent Weigel Broadcasting, is launching Antenna TV to supply digital subchannel programming for local TV stations, beginning Jan. 3. The new service will deliver a round-the-clock slate of vintage TV series reruns and movies from Sony and DLT Entertainment to a secondary digital channel of WGN-Ch. 9 and those of other Tribune Co. stations. Tribune Co., which also owns the Chicago Tribune, also plans to make the service available to stations in other markets on a barter basis.
On most Tribune Co. stations, Antenna TV is meant to complement This TV, the pioneering movie service that Weigel and MGM launched for digital subchannels two years ago. But here in Chicago, where Antenna will air on Channel 9.2, Weigel's WCIU carries This and WGN will have only that.
This TV enjoys cable clearance in the Chicago area, as do Weigel's Me TV and Me Too programming. Not all digital subchannels do. They are available, however, for free over the air to viewers who use their digital tuners. Sean Compton, Tribune Broadcasting's president of programming, said on Monday that WGN is weighing several options for Channel 9.3 here, including a possible simulcast of WGN-AM 720.
Antenna TV offerings will include "Three's Company," "Good Times," "All in the Family," "Sanford and Son," "Benny Hill," "Maude," "The Nanny,""Too Close for Comfort," "The Monkees," "Married with Children," "NewsRadio," "Dennis the Menace," "The Donna Reed Show" and Three Stooges shorts.
“Tribune is committed to making full use of our bandwidth to offer viewers a broad spectrum of programming,” Compton said in the company's announcement.
