Intersting article, here is the PDF from the FCC http://www.fcc.gov/Daily_Releases/Daily_Business/2011/db0406/FCC-11-53A1.pdf

It will be interseting to see what will happen to this. Boosters make huge improvements for rural cell phone use.

They are also notorious for overloading the front ends of sites, spurring and other bad stuff...

Hmmmm, let me see if I have this straight:

Screw those of us fond of travelling/living off the beaten path (sometimes WAY off), spurring a need for more cell sites, thus increasing licensing fees?

Sounds about right.

If you live out in the middle of nowhere, you don't have anyone you need to talk to anyway.

So does anyone here own one or use one? :?:

I've been 'bidding' on some rural property(s) where there might be one bar.
I understand if there's no bars then there's no signal to boost.
I would be nice to know if they work before I plunk down the cash.

Oh, and:
:chaingun:

Of course.
Boost a signal by blocking it.
I could borrow an A-6 for that.

I have several of the Wilson boosters for the car and house over the years and Wilson has made a solid product.

So do think one 4G bar can be 'amped' with a Wilson product?
There's a hill between this property/house I'm purchasing and the tower.
The tower is about 5 miles away.
I'm undecided on the antenna, yagi or omni.
Probably yagi.
Thanks for your input.

No. I get the four pack- west side elk, deer, bear and cougar. Too bad the only cougars I see are at the mall.
