I have several of the Wilson boosters for the car and house over the years and Wilson has made a solid product.

So do think one 4G bar can be 'amped' with a Wilson product?
There's a hill between this property/house I'm purchasing and the tower.
The tower is about 5 miles away.
I'm undecided on the antenna, yagi or omni.

I've heard conflicting information... is this 100% legal and without liability? I've heard (via 3rd parties) of home-owners being sued by their respective cell providers. I don't know the exact conditions so perhaps there were other circumstances involved.

It is not legal to add any sort of booster or BDA without the written consent of the license holder, or the Commissioner of Major League Baseball.

It would be interesting to know of any adjudication.
As the end user I wouldn't be reselling service.
I'll check the EULA.

With the research I've done, I can't determine if these are frequency (tune to the channel #) specific or band (800, 1900, etc.).
LTE is in the 700 range, however it's hard to determine if ATT puts data and voice clumped in 700, or if it's split, eg LTE 700, voice 1900.

Ever hear of these guys?
I would like to stick with Wilson.
I also like the idea of a radio for each service (one for voice and one for LTE)

These were junk.
Plain junk.

I called 'tech support'.
Guy asked "How many bars outside"?
"1-2".
"that's your problem"
Duh. This is why I'm paying a lot of money for something that doesn't work.
I was able to make one (1) call, which dropped, and never accessed the inner-webs.
They shipped back.

I noticed some Wilson gear under the glass case at my local Radio Shack

AT&T gave me a 'Micro Cell', but it hasn't given me the green light yet.
They said my street address doesn't match my lat/long.
I'm thinking about jumping over to Verizon. Their service works out here.
I would like to keep my Moto X I bought a few months ago, but GSM vs. CDMA.
It's a question I need to ask Verizon.

I have used the Verizon equivalent for several years now and it works pretty well, but does not hand off for beans when I drive away.

Mine has a GPS built in so once it gets a good lock then it fores up.

Verizon does not charge a "per line fee" to add the devices. I have heard some carriers do.

Or try.

AAR:

The Micro-Cell has been working almost reliably. Every now and then it needs to be reset.
The range is comparable to a cordless phone, maybe 75 yards.
Data is over wifi with the same range.

/issue

A few friends have an AT&T microcell had reset issues for a while. If the reset happens late at night or early morning, the problem seemed more towards Centurylink having issues with delivery of their DSL for my friend.

Another issue is get it as far away from your wireless router as you can.

I put the Verizon network extender in the same picture window 8' separation as the wifi and AT&T box and it works fine, and yes the hand-off as you leave is junk.

For me the hand off is 1+ mile(s) away due to a terrain feature, so no complaints with that issue.

I have heard those work pretty well. The Wilson brand is pretty solid.
