Just to let everyone know, Portland Airport has free WiFi access in many parts of the terminal.
Just an FYI

Today I flew to and arrived at Eugene Oregon Airport and noticed they have free WiFi in the front lobby near the coffee shop. The coffee shop has some excellent apple pie and cheese cake. Then checked into one of the less expensive Best Western Hotels and logged on to their free WiFi. Best Western has a branch company called "Speedlinks" that provides their WiFi services for every Best Western.

I had some trouble logging in (error message: DNS not recognized). So I called the networks guy and he said the router made by company called Nomadics and the Nomadics guys trying to figure this out because I am not the only one having trouble. Anyway, the Speedlinks guy was quite nice and helpful. Here's a three cheers.

(Note: the problem was that the Nomadics router did not recognize the IP address and thus the MAC address in the Linksys wireless booster that I use for my wirleess laptop. He took a look at my MAC address online and stepped me through the process - problem solved!)

I've had some connect problems with Best Western also, at times.
But I wasn't staying there, just visiting the parking lot...

I purchased a Linksys "Speed Booster" wireless network adapter that plugs into my laptop's USB port and really helps me capture any RF 802.11 WiFi signal - in the airport, at Starbucks, Kinkos; wherever I can find a Hot Spot.
