I have a project coming up that's going to require a fair amount of desoldering. Typically I would just use desoldering braid, but not this time around. If anyone has a desoldering station that is collecting dust, please let me know. Thanks.

Thanks for pointing that out, Nick. Rest assured, if it's at Vetco, you're paying top dollar for it. Although the convenience factor far surpasses some of their prices. I mean, where else in this area are you going to find that specialized Molex connector. Still miss the days when they were next to Active Electronics, and you could go downstairs and get barked at by Bob Munger. I've used a solder sucker / soldering iron in the past, I was hoping to step up to the next level. Aoyue makes some very affordable entry level desoldering stations...... but I'll hold out and see if I can find a used machine first.

Yeah I remember Active Electronics. I spent hours in that place as a teen. As you say though, it's the only game in town these days.
