Picked up the latest RTL-SDR that others may be really interested in...

It has HF/VHF/UHF all built-in and the unit has a metal case + SMA female connector. Also, it comes with the high-stability oscillator. This last feature is REALLY nice. In SDR# this means ZERO ppm offset. It's perfect so far.

Decoding P25 WSP channels is surprisingly really good. I'm starting to wonder if the improved oscillator really helps with decoding. It kind of makes sense.

Also comes with two antennas. One is very long telescopic for just about anything and the smaller element is used for ADS-B if you wish. (It's not high quality but it's included free.)

Best part is the price! Only $26 from Amazon. In stock now! :)

Specs:

This model has several improvements over other models. It uses the improved R820T2 tuner, has a 1PPM TCXO (2 PPM initial offset, 1 PPM temperature drift), has improved component tolerances and an SMA F connector. It also comes with a software activatable bias-tee circuit for powering external devices such as LNA's and active antennas.

Just one quick comment:

I downloaded the newest version of SDR# from the Airspy web site and it doesn't seem to work nearly as well. I went back to using the .1337 version of SDR# which decodes perfectly P25/DMR, etc. No idea what's wrong with the newest version. I think it may be tweaked for Airspy vs the RTL-SDRs...

Three V3's on the way. TCXO is a bonus though its too bad they didn't put HF on a separate connector (which I believe the board has pads for).

Hmm true but the switching in SDR# isn't too bad. I think this board is customized due to the optional components -- but I haven't taken the cover off. I will say it does get a little warm after some use. It's not going to burn you but you'll feel the warmth. ;o)

Been running it for a few days with GQRX. Working great ! Software HF switch is nice, surprisingly picked up some local AM on an indoor 19" stick so it apparently has a little gain down there.
