Hi all,

After a few years of inactivity, I came across my old 245 XLT trunk tracker but it doesn't seem to be picking up stuff they way it used to, probably due to rebanding.

I'm in Redmond so I tried the Education Hill site frequencies, the frequency database on here shows 853.65000 as the primary control channel but I don't hear anything on that frequency. I do hear analog audio around 850 MHz in general so I assume it's not all digital encrypted yet.

Has anyone set up sdrtrunk ? It seems great for this sort of thing.

So my question is, what are the frequencies these days?

I'm not too interested in spendind money so sdrtrunk and my current cheap rtl_sdr dongle are all I'm going to have (as opposed to buying a new radio) but it would be nice to set it up just for fun.

Thanks,
franco

franco, are you saying you didn't hear anything on 853.65 using the RTLSDR? If it's a cheap version, did you calibrate it? The early versions were way off frequency and you needed to calibrate it against a known frequency. The catch was that you had to do this on each band. So just because you calibrate it on VHF doesn't mean it'll be perfect on UHF or higher frequencies.

Also, you didn't say where you're located? Are you near Education Hill? That repeater is pretty low-power and somewhat picky about where it can be received. I know it's pretty strong in downtown Redmond.

SDRtrunk itself is not the best option.

Use Unitrunker V2.

The current .55 release supports P1 IMBE audio as well, with just one dongle.

Thanks guys!

Calibration was off (total noobie here...), now sorted out - 853.65 is loud and clear and appears where it should on the dial.

I'll look into Unitrunker as well.

My SDR captured a talk group that neither site has listed.. It is in between other channels I have designated for Digital channels for SPD, Does anyone have information on 44992 KCERS site 1? For me , Unitrunker v1 sounds better on my system than v2. So for now I'm staying with v1
