Hey Brad,

I ordered one of these yesterday. I can't recall if you said you had any DMR radios but this is a great deal. I'll let you know how mine sounds later this week. Comes with everything you need to get started. Software/Firmware upgrades are free.

It's a Chinese/UK company Jim. They meant "sensitivity" -- just those weird Brits. :P

Assuming anything about radio is sensible?

Got the radio today. It's very portable. Quite slim and very lightweight. I tested on analog NFM and works fine. The mic gain was a little low but will need to play with settings, etc. Software looks similar to the Motorola/Vertex720 CPS software. Latest firmware was already installed. Received radio in 2-days via USPS Priority.

So far so good. Will try DMARC later this weekend.

I have the CS700. It's back at CSI getting the upgrade to a CS750.

Decent reviews of the 380 so far. I guess the screen is pretty nice, but the selection of dark lettering makes it a bit hard to read at times.

For the price, it's apparently a pretty good deal.

Brad.

Had the MD-380 up on DMARC Cougar last night. The software is fairly basic but fairly straight-forward to program. Unfortunately, I don't see any options for mic gain, etc.

The audio quality from parrot was OK but it definitely lacks punch. My Vertex sounded much stronger and had fuller audio than the MD-380. That being said, it was very usable and didn't have any ill effects. There could potentially be issues with using the radio in a noisy environment.

Interesting, mine seems to be a bit on the hot side. Maybe the MD-380s are like some of the CS700's, where you get great audio or you get quiet audio.

Do the software hack to access the service menu and then you can adjust the mic settings.

Need to change the subject line on this thread. I keep looking for repeater stuff. ;)

I created a separate topic for the 380.

The "New DMR Repeater" post is still there, just down the screen a bit.

Brad.

Some amateur re-wrote the firmware and turned the 380 into a scanner. You just punch in the frequencies and it'll monitor everything like DSD+ ... I haven't tried this myself yet but it works well per users.
