Meh... Whatever it was, it essentially trashed most of the 2 meter band at one point or another, with peaks in the signal level centered around 146.700 and 148.00, and splattering at lower levels in between. It stayed on long enough for me to hit the power switch on the spectrum analyzer and hook up a duck to see if it was strong enough for IT to hear it so equipped, and it wasn't. As I was tuning across the band to see how wide it really was, heard a couple hams discussing the matter on a local repeater. Mentioned in the QSO was the observation of "military vehicles with lots of antennas" in the area. Huge signals observed by those in the QSO in the Pierce County area, and at the peak frequencies mentioned above with no preamp, my receiver here connected to the usual omnidirectional gain thingy was fully indicating.
