Just because they're listed doesn't mean they're actually active though. A sad fact. :(

I know that all are on the air in mixed mode at least except for Vancouver and Spokane. The repeater in Edmonds will do analog, D-STAR and Fusion.

443.9 is mixed mode active in Clark. Heard lots of fusioning going on the other day.

Although we have fusion repeaters in the area, they are unfortunately not connect via IP/WIRES-X. I can speak for Clearview, Edmonds, Port Angeles and Mill Creek. NO7RF did have it connected but disconnected it to free up his 400. Apparently according to his website (http://www.trbo.org/fusion/wires-x.html), someone is making a TRBO-Fusion gateway. http://www.trbo.org/fusion/

Here is a list of Fusion WIRES-X systems on the air now from Yaesu web site. It doesn't give a list of frequencies unfortunately.

So how do you like the FT-1D? On sale for $299 at HRO, was pondering one. Even if I hardly use it for digital I can eavesdrop :-)

For $299, it's not a bad radio. I just couldn't get past the volume control problem. That knob on top of the radio is used to change channels. It only becomes a volume control when you press and hold the "VOL" button on the side of the radio. Makes changing the radio volume a two handed operation. Not very convenient if you have the radio on your belt.

Also, several function that SHOULD be dedicated to front panel keys (like the TONE function) are buried in menus.

As Nick commented, there's not a lot of Fusion activity locally.

So, I sold my FT1-DR. I'll wait until Fusion matures a bit more before I try it again.

Brad.

You know Barry just got a FTM400 and ordered a Fusion rptr?

Yup. We talked about it at breakfast on Friday. He likes the radio - says the APRS function works well. He'll play with Fusion just to understand it.

He'll probably put the repeater up at Komo temporarily, just to try it out. For him, the allure of a $500 dual band repeater was too good to pass up.

Four more Fusion Systems:

Everett - 147.180, along with the 444.575 (Sponsored by the SnoHams club). Both are on Auto/Auto, 103.5 for analog side. The repeaters used to be linked together, but are now un-linked. Most users are trying to keep the Fusion noise on the UHF repeater.

Baldi - 147.220 (Sponsored by Rob/AF7PR). Due to an antenna issue, it's a bit deaf right now. 103.5 analog. It's co-channeled with the South Whidbey Island repeater (127.3)

Baldi - 440.075 (Sponsored by N7OEP). Workable from my house, and around Seattle. Also talked to a guy who was mobile in the Olympia area, and he was 100% digital copy. It's working well.

Soon to come:

Seattle - KOMO TV Tower repeater, 444.425, will be swapped out to a Fusion box in the next few weeks. Probably just an experiment for awhile.

Seattle - KCTS TV Tower, unknown what frequency. May be a permanent installation.

Brad/N7ER

Barry/K7PAL installed his Fusion repeater on the KOMO tower today. It replaced his Quantar P25 machine.

Good signal reports around Seattle.

Frequency 444.425. PL 141.3 for the analog side.

Unknown if this is a permanent change, or if the Fusion equipment will remain there permanently.

Brad.
