Location: South King County or the beach, usually one or the other.
I am looking at taking the No Code Technician test. Getting into Ham Radio has been a dream since I was a teenager (and I have now retired from one job and working another.) I figure I can start out at this level and work my way up. I see that the ARRL and Gordon West both have study manuals out.
I am curious to see which ones you all recommend and why. Any assistance would be appreciated.

:D GOOD LUCK WAYNE, i TOOK THE CLASS FROM GORDO WEST he is vary good! I don't know about the others but gordon has been dooing this for years! Check out his articals in the radio mags, he knows his stuff. Just my 2 cents!! :roll:

I used an online ( FREE!) study guide http://www.hamquick.com/tutorial_main.php
I'm sure the gordon west stuff is better but I did study the hamquick and took lots of online pratice tests http://www.qrz.com/p/testing.pl
Take lots of study tests! The real test was stressfull!!


I think there will be new test questions coming out soon , like Jult 1st

I like to use AA9PW's site.

It generates a new test every time.
Some sites keep giving you the same test.

This is also a great reference site for commercial exams, as well.
