I'm getting a VHF Spectra programmed and would love to hear everyone's suggestions as to what they would program. This could be useful for anyone who wants to program a radio for local use, not just me. I spend a lot of my time in the mountains so would like to put in DNR/USFS(and their police units)/WSP/ mutual aid etc. If you know the freq, wonderful, but just knowing what channel you are referring to would be great (i.e. WSP Aircraft or VHF MARS) Thanks! |

For the Mountains I would go with USFS main and tac, DNR area and common, WSP area (because of the USFS L/E division use) and Nat'l Parks (if applicaple)[sp], and a County fire main and fire tac. 146.520 and a repeater that would work in 'your' woods. (If it applies to you). |

I would add 320.9, the primary freq for the AR 355 refueling track beginning at Tatoosh and ending at Moses Lake. On Thursday I got a picture of a KC-135 about to refuel a C-17 over Edmonds. http://microvoltradio.com/vr1355/ar3209.jpg |

155.01. Just about every small town in Washington and Oregon has used this frequency at one time or another. I often hear stakeouts and car to car on this channel. I have even heard business users on the channel. MTM |

Port Townsend uses as Fire F2 because years ago they got a bunch of ole Olympia radios that had the freq in it. One of the S. Sno County cities also uses it - or at least did pre-800Mhz. -m |
