Hoping someone can help me figure this one out....

I have both a TRX-1 and a BCD436.
The TRX-1 is picking up WSP (Washington State Patrol) - the 436 not so much.
This is on the (now narrowbanded/digital) conventional VHF 154-158 freqs.
JIWN (Justice Integrated Wireless Network - trunked VHF) and WSPDOT (WA State Patrol Dept of Transp - trunked 700) seem to be working fine.

These scanners were both programmed via RR database.
Both are using a Diamond RH77, so antennas are the same

I did notice the TRX-1 had FM programmed on the P25/digital freqs (via RR), the 436 had NFM programmed via RR. I changed the 436 where needed to FM on these.

Still hearing nothing.
And yes, it is scanning them freqs, just not hearing anything.
I even turned location off, just in case that was the problem.
Nope...

Any suggestions??

Thanks

...and why are you asking on this forum and not the RR folks?

He's looking for accurate information?

Uniden. Enough said.

JIWN is actually IWN, and WSPDOT is just WSP. IWN dropped the J a few years ago, and WSPDOT is someone's imaginary name. WSDOT has their own 800 system and is working feverishly on a 700 Phase-2 system.

Not knowing anything about the RR 'database', I'll first ask what NAC codes are programmed in? Then we'll discuss preset squelch settings, etc.

As an aside, on my TRX radios I use NFM or AUTO only (though I don't listen to WSP...or WSDOT).

Set the NAC to F7E and see if that makes a difference, if the scanner even supports it...
