I'm getting back to the scanning hobby and am planning on getting a handheld scanner with trucking ability. (I'm looking at the UNIDEN BC-246T) I was just wondering if this would allow me to listen to the Tacoma Police now that they are on a trunked system. I have no experience with trunking, so I'm feeling quite lost right now. Any help would be appreciated .... |

Yes the 246T will work and so will the Uniden BCD396T and the BR330T. all three are flash programable when the FCC rebands the 800MHz Band out here. I have the 246T and it works great for me here in Tacoma. The only channels you are not going to get are the Digital ones due to the level 3 encryption. Good Luck |
