Anybody having problem listening to Pierce County Sheriff on the system? I hear Fire from here in Tacoma using my Uniden BCD436HP. Thanks |

You have to monitor from specific sites. It's tough for me given my QTH but with my 700 Mhz Yagi I can hit the Orting site which seems to have more PCS traffic. It's hit or miss at times though. That SS911 system is very strange. |

South Simulcast is pretty busy with PCSO. Fire Charlie group is hit and miss at nights. If no radios are logged into the site and on the group you wanna scan then it probably won't broadcast. What fire are you talking about Alpha Group (Tacoma fire) or Bravo group (West Pierce and others)? It's most likely there is always one of those agencies with a radio on and registered to the system. If you are in Tacoma there probably wouldn't be always a unit logged onto a nearby site unless they are going to the jail or hospital since they patrol away from Tacoma... just my $.02 |
