I know ICOM uses 2 tone paging. But do they also use POCSAG? If so, do they also use 152.0075 for the frequency? |

I can answer the first part of your question. I emailed the Director of ICOM911 and he replied back stating it depends on the District who choose to use Alphanumeric Pagers or Two Tone Motorola voice pagers. I did not ask what the Freq. was for the POCSAG Pagers. |

I-COM 911 utilizes a commercial TEXT paging ( cellular & internet based ) product known as COMMTECH. Typically used for paging ICSO staff and for O/T callbacks of some career fire staff, mechanics, chaplains, animal control, special teams, medical examiner, etc. It has been my observation that being internet based, at times, there can be inherent delays in the process. They can also use an I/M function within the SPILLMAN MDT Laptops as well, ( also cellular & internet based ). There is great interest in expanding the SERS paging footprint signal ( 152.0075 ) into Island County, and I-COM 911 has researched this possibility, but alas, Canada is not too keen on that idea. |
