Post subject:  Olympic National Park Search

Heard a Search for a missing person going on at Olympic National Park yesterday. "SAR Base" was contacting the teams and helicopter on 168.5250. The helicopter found the guy and requested Coast Guard to assist to pick him up. They advised Coast Guard to contact them on "Victor, 122.9200" I am assuming he meant 122.9250 as I see searching on the net is a common USFS Victor Frequency. Can someone confirm whether it is 122.9200 or 122.9250? Also wondering if anybody came across any other frequencies during the search.

Hey Cory! Yes, it is indeed that frequency. In many aircraft radios, the radio displays only two numbers beyond the decimal (this was done back when radios had 50khz spacing. The practice continues today!) So 122.92 is infact 122.925.

Cheers for now,

Colin
