Sometime in the last couple of hours the SERS West system (site 001 I believe) has gone silent (East site is still working).
Both of my scanners have went in to a mode looking for a control channel. If I hold on one of the voice channels I will randomly hear dispatch and field units. Had a friend flip on his scanner and he is seeing the same thing.

I have all of the voice and data frequencies programmed so the scanner finds the control channel on it's own.

Not sure what this means. Possibly some new frequencies have been added to the system and the control channel has changed?

Yup something has definitely changed. Several of my scanner nerds are reporting the same for the West system.

Buddy of mine heard the SERS DEMO1 TG very active today. Talking about a cut over, frequency change and reband. So I guess the reband frequencies have went in to effect as of this evening... sigh......

Does anyone know of a company in the Snohomish County area that re-programs scanners? Happy to pay someone as I don't have a cable.

Can someone please post the control channels (and alternates) for the above sites? Thanks!

Which scanner you using? Can't be that tough to delete the old freq's and put in the new ones by hand. And just put all the freq's in the scanner.

They are still in the process of change. They are still using some frequencies in the old band. West did that for a couple of days but has settled down. I don't really see why this is happening.

Have a radio shack pro 94 and a uniden 780xlt, I put the frequencies in but can't get talk groups to hold or trunk. I'm kind of technically challenged so that's why I'd like to hire someone to do it. Just trying to follow EPD and EFD. Right now I get everything on the west side but can't follow any single conversation. My email is news@myeverettnews.com if you know someone who can program for me.

There are some users on the "new" frequencies that are still occupying them, and would not consent to co-channel use. So, a few channels will remain on the old band. Once the other users vacate the new channels, SERS will have to go back and change/retune those old channels to the new ones.

Yea, it's a pain for them.

The band plan and changes to spectrum look like tetris.

857.1625 C

853.7500 C
853.5875 C
853.6125 C

856.3625 C
856.5375 C
852.7750 C

Sobieski 06
855.7125 C - Not reporting rebanding in trunk88
856.2625 C

With custom rebanded bandplan as required by your scanner type.
My PRO-96 and BCD396T seem to work so far.

The Uniden 780xlt will NOT support rebanding. Get a different base/mobile radio.

A quick Google search (took me about 2 minutes) shows the Pro 94 will NOT support rebanding (though one source said "certain versions may support rebanding").

I'd encourage you to do your own Google search, and determine if your Pro 94 version is one of the exceptions. I doubt it, but again - you have the radio and know exactly which version it is.

You will likely have to buy new radio(s) to continue following any rebanded trunking system.

Brad.

Bummer,

I guess it is time for me to research and buy new scanners... I have not picked up a new scanner in over 10 years :)

What's the newest and greatest thing everyone has to have now-a-days?
