They didn't listen, and are now going through the same BS that NORCOM went through. Wait - STILL going through. Jeez.... |

I hear it will be awesome, and people dont know what they are talking about. Is there anyone in here that has used this, and has a real opinion about it? We have been kept in the dark for almost 5 years now. When I have asked the people on the build team, I was told that they were told that they are not allowed to talk about it with us. |

In a sentence - most of my co-workers that use New World wish we would have stayed with Tri-Tech. It has been a very long, and so far unsuccessful, road to fully implementing New World system as per the initial contract specifications. NORCOM fire agencies will NOT use it. If the company can't get it right in 5+ years, then I suspect their product is inherently flawed. However, as you experience, New World loves to operate in an information vacuum - so, not surprising you are being left in the dark, and people aren't talking about it. Good luck up there.....maybe it'll work out fine. I have my doubts. |

Just read this string. Interesting saga. Valleycom is supposed to cut-over to Tiburon's system in March. The planning of the entire CAD system replacement has gone on for over five years now. With that, these stories sound pretty familiar, however the difference with Valleycom, is that they had extremely specific contract language that held Tiburon's feet to the fire. The deployment of the new CAD system was delayed extensively, as the main issues causing problems was the GIS components (since the basis of the application is all based on GIS layers). I was "lucky" enough to be an agency rep. during the design and planning phase for the mobile and desktop applications. Police and fire agencies put their two cents in with regards to how the applications would look and function. In the last year, we have seen that Tiburon is just like any other public safety/CAD vendor: long on promises and short on delivering an application that actually is intuitive. The mobile application we have now (PRC/Northrup Gruman products designed in the 80's) has GUI features that we WON'T have in this "new and modern" application. And when issues about GUI design are brought up to Tiburon, evidently it's "impossible" to make any changes here in the year 2014. It just is mind boggling. So in March, all the users in South King County will transition to Tiburon's new system, and enjoy all the non-features of a poorly thought out, lackluster, CAD application. Yeah! |
