Buddy of mine likes to monitor Island Co. Sheriff office. He asked me a couple of days ago what a "Title 10" was. I asked him in what context is it used and he tells me it's used when a subjects name is ran. For example the dispatcher will say to the officer "This subject has two Title 10's". Google did not yield any result. Anyone? |

Wilrobnson wrote: Context like that I'd guess warrant. Crap. I had the term wrong. It's "Title 10". I'll edit my first post. But ya I agree with you that was my first thought. I asked him if he ever heard the officer then ask to confirm the "Title 10". He said he had not. And while I was typing this response I heard this very radio communications occur. Sure enough the officer asked if it was "extraditable". So ya, it's police jargon for a warrant. |

Yeah, it seems to be related to level of the warrant. A sideways way of telling the LE that he's standing next to a no-goodnik. Title 10 RCW: CRIMINAL PROCEDURE |

Unless something has changed, that might mean registered sex offender or that the offender is in the "wrong" area. That was the common use of the term a few years ago. |
