I work in a new casino in Lakewood. I want to see what our radio's come up freq wise. Now I'm a novice with scanners. How would I check to see where it comes up? |

Are there any letters on the antenna indicating 'UHF or VHF'? Pop the battery off and look and see if any indication of uhf or vhf. Here's an example of what I would do: See if there is any license paperwork floating around the office, sometimes the freq is listed. If not, say it's UHF. Look around in the business band allocations, from 461.00 to about 464.000. It may take some time, do it when you know there is high radio traffic. Also check the FCC web site for the business name, check the parent company too. Good luck. |

Post the name and one of us can look up what the FCC has. Get a hold of a frequency meter that gives you the freq when you hit the transmit button of the radio. -good luck -m |

From back of radio FCC ID ALH36423110 TK 3160 450-490 Mhz Don't think we registered with the FCC but the place is Happy Days Casino, owned by Charles McSwain. Not sure if that helps. I tried scanning those mhz and talking on the radio with no result. |

welcome also try checking the back of the radio sometimes they will print the freqs on the back ! GOOD LUCK STEVE F. |

:D We need to know the Model Number. Take the battery pack off and look for a Model Number. NOT a serial number. Then we can tell you what band. |

:D :D You will have to try searching the "business" UHF frequencies. You will have to set your search limits for the following "Sub-Bands" from 451.00 to 453.0375, 454.00 to 455.00, 456.00 to 458.0375, 459.00 to 460.00, from 460.65 to 465.00 and 465.65 to 470.00. The radio may be able to use the UHF T band channels above 470 Mhz. However - those frequencies are NOT allowed to be used in Washington State. Only after searching all of the other UHF Sub-bands would I try to search above 470 Mhz. I would start with 460.65 to 465.00 and then 465.65 to 470.0 Mhz. Its better than 70 % that you will locate the frequencies within one of those 2 "Sub-bands". The 454.00 to 455.00 and 459.00 to 460.00 Mhz sub-bands are for RCC - Radio Common Carrier -- Private Radio Telephone companies. However -- several RCC firms "rent out" those frequencies. Check there last. And let us know what you locate. Keep the portable at least ten feet from the scanner while transmitting. It will overload the receiver and JAM the scanner and give a false readout. |

If you have a Close Call scanner like the Uniden 246T Scanner you could put it in the close call mode. Then key up the radio and see what the freqs are and pl or dpl tones are. Good luck |

since the radio is in UHF and there are no FCC licenses under the casino name then you could be using FRS frequencies or the casino is licensed under a corporate name. Is the casino privately owned or by a corporation? |

Privately owned but think he's "incorporated". I did find out we have scramblers on our radios, so that maybe why its not working. |
