Sometimes I see things that make me go hmm and then dig through FCC licenses. Cleanscapes was one of these. I found a license and threw all the freqs in the scanner for a day (which is where this came from). No traffic after two weekdays.

Had a chance today to take a closer look at one of the trucks. The roof of the cab looks like a page out of an antenna catalog (I counted four) and the driver had a touchscreen that he poked after making a pickup. I didn't see anything that looked like a microphone.

So just in case someone else has the same thought I did--don't bother plugging in those freqs unless you're in Pioneer Square.

Happened to be near another truck today and peeked inside looking at the MDT. I noticed that mounted to the back of the cab, just behind the driver's right shoulder, is a radio that looked kinda like a Maxtrac. This one was on Channel 03. Warrants further investigation.

Revised guess: it was a XPR 5350, DM 3401 or CM200d. TG 11998131 on TRBOWest has trucks that are in Cleanscapes' area and pick up garbage.

They use software called Routeware.
