I cannot receive this system from my location.

Oh come on!!! The RR guys could do it with a low mounted antenna and 100 feet of RG58!

I did some seeking from a hill in PierceCo, got a weak EDACS control on 936.3875. The only license in the state is WNVQ293, PSE at Green Mountain. Couldn't lock on, but I suspect there's no traffic on it.

I also ran into some PSE / contractor folks in rural PierceCo, they laughed about the new system's coverage. They had to drive 9-10 miles back towards town to get a cell signal to call dispatch... and that was still out of radio range.

The only person I've spoken with about it absolutely loves the system. Said he can sit in his house with a portable and talk to any crew, anywhere. He mentioned a call two winters ago where he was on a "second channel" with a Bellingham-area crew while he was stuck in traffic south of Olympia.

Not having any true idea of how the system works, I just smiled and nodded.

Kerry Park should be a pretty good place to RX anything off Green Mountain

If you hold the radio just right you get 5 bars. Move it an inch to the left and it dies completely. Nothing in between.

And this is a weird one: if I do a license search here it shows the freq licensed at all four locations on the license; but the FCC shows as Flash describes; only licensed on Green.

Eh??? If you go to Locations on the FCC listing it clearly shows all of the locations. Also under the Frequencies tab the drop box shows the proper locations for each site...

Both are sync'd up...

But the FCC DB indicates 936.3875 is licensed for use only on Green, whereas the DB here indicates it is valid for use at all four sites.

Roger-dodger. Sounds a like bug in the intercept software. ;)

I would believe the Intercept DB over the FCC. ;)

I have that as voice from a couple of places. If it's a control channel, it's new to me.

If I had to guess, I would say it's up in the Snoqualmie Pass area. I can just barely hear it on my base antenna. When mobile, it's best up around the 520/148th area so either west or east. (And that signal is able to break squelch consistently.)

I managed to snag it weakly, 110.9, but haven't narrowed it down yet. Would be nice to decode the site number and see if they just changed the freq on one of them.
