I'm just along for the ride, but since I'm here I decided to try and map out event Communications. The radio are Motorola, and are rented from Creative Communications (event rentals):

Their radio protocol is surprising good, for a bunch of volunteers and limited paid staff. Their "Teams" use mainly one channel, but switch around liberally to talk to other "Teams". It's not as much of a cluster as I would have expected.
