Post subject:  Snohomish County Trunk Stuff

Hello - haven't been scanningmuch lately, but today I heard a lot of testing going on [test 12345 etc]. Also I heard mention of of adding 'the port' to the talkgroups - anyone know what theyre talking about? I figure Port of Everett.

What talkgroup(s) did you hear this stuff on? It may have been another test of the TRIS system (Tri county Interoperability System). They may have been referring to Port of Seattle.

On the Sno Co System, 60624 is the LERN Monitor TG. Anything heard on the King Lake 155.370 site is re-broadcast onto this talkgroup.

So, if anyone else in the region was doing some mutual aid or training stuff, it would be heard on the Sno County System - even though Sno County agencies have nothing to do with it.

Hard to say what you were hearing....could have been just about anyone in the Puget Sound region that has access to 155.370.

How about the SCSO South TG? Some days you hear everything, others you just hear dead air for dispatch but mobiles come in fine.

That's likely "operator error" on the part of the dispatcher. No one at SCSO complains, because they are still on VHF. The patch to 800mhz is only in place for the benefit of 800mhz users who wish to listen to SCSO (like Mill Creek, Mukilteo, City of Everett, other SNOCOM agencies...).

Post subject:  SCSO 800 Patch Problem

Not to dig up an old topic...but...

Now on the SCSO 800 patch you hear the dispatcher but no units...

I know I'm a broken record on this, but I also know there is someone from the county that is active on this site.

I noticed again tonight that on SCSO South air on the 800 side you can not hear the units again, only dispatchers.

I believe that it boils down to whether or not any 800 users are affiliated with the SCSO South 800 talkgroup. If no one has that selected you do not hear all of the traffic. SCSO should be switching to 800 late this year or early next year.
