Can anybody confirm that WSP District 7 in Everett uses 154.775 PL 156.7 in the Skykomish area? I noticed in the Wiki that it is listed as "Shuksan" which is a mountaintop in the Mt Baker area of Whatcom County, yet it's listed in the DB as used for Skykomish area. I did pick up a transmission on that frequency with that tone but was unable to discern the content. I would think the distances involved would make it unlikely that it was from the Mt Baker area due to it not being a repeated frequency.

As a side note...I still hear troopers calling "Skykomish" on the Area frequency.

Any help would be appreciated.

154.755- it links Sky with 'Everett'. Sobrieski I believe.
TX is Everett input.
Kind of odd.
If nothing has changed in the last decade since I've been there.

Their site should still be at Sobieski Mountain also known as Maloney Ridge.
And I think they are still using the old system of receivers that come out of different speakers on their dispatch consoles.
What happens is when things get busy, they turn down a couple of the more distant RX's because units in Seattle for example don't hear car to car traffic up at Hyak or Sky and vice versa.
That is why you hear mobiles calling saying the RX they are coming on to get the dispatchers attention.
That was common for me when I was J-301 on the passes.
We would select the correct frequency for different receivers, and OFTEN have to call several times to get the dispatchers attention.
Hence the " Jay three zero one Seattle on Rattlesnake " type of calls.
It has gotten worse now that Z5 shares the Z1 channel.
The dispatchers just turn on ALL the transmitters, (Which are not simulcast disciplined unless that was done recently ) so traffic on Snoqualmie is mostly unreadable. Just sounds like multiple units "doubling" with each other.
Sounds like they are about to spend a LOT of money to go to P25 VHF and FINALLY simulcast and vote RX's.

Sobieski is only snow free a few months. One can view the old railroad grade switchbacks across the valley to the north & east, and catch a glimpse of the Sound to the west.

I asked recently what the WSP plan is supposed to be. ( within weeks )
Looks like P25 VHF conventional is the answer.
Any body hear a definitive answer that is different?
That would sure make the most sense given the coverage they have now with the sites they have.
But, I once in a while hear people that think WSP is going 700/800.
That would cost a LOT more money.
Its going to be an interesting next couple years.

I don't think there are any 800 pairs available on this side of the mountains.

It will be VHF only at this point from everything I've read.

Ok, the latest I hear is they are going VHF P25 conventional on their system.
AND they are negotiating to have some units on other agency systems.
On the DOJ system if they can get on.
And likely on the various 800/700 trunking systems in those areas, if they can get on.
All that makes WAY too much sense.
Now, I wonder if KC/VC, Seattle or Sno County would let them have units on their system?
It would seem like a good idea to put the Seattle/Tacoma/Everett Zones on a TG of their own for dispatch.
Add just that second radio ( or the multiband ) for those troops.
But stick with VHF for most of the state.
I wonder if the fed systems have the capacity that they would allow a lot of WSP units on.
This will be interesting.
Ya' sure don't want to see WSP wind up with the very expensive multi-band-multi-brand systtem that CHP is getting.
Having other agencies on as "subscribers" make way more sense to me the excessive duplication that is going on now.
It is going to be an interesting next few years.
