Does anyone know what the schedule is for phase II implementation of the Snohomish County Trunked system? I have been hearing test tones recently on the East Trunk of the system, today I got a control channel on frequency 868.975mhz, but no activity on the East trunk. The same is true Frequency 868.6625 which is one of the five frequencys used in the two smartzones in the system.

I hear the control channel on 868.925 (not .975 - typo?) - however (at 2122 hrs) it's in site trunking. So, it's not really "attached" to the rest of the system yet. The 868.8825 frequency is listed as one of the Darrington area frequencies - so, that site also has some activity.

That's good news - perhaps that means they are almost ready to flip the switch and begin the 30 day "bug free" test.

Once the 30 day bug-free period is satisfied, then coverage and acceptance testing will begin. If all goes well, users may be coming up on the system in August or September 2006.

Still some hurdles to get over, but it's coming.

Today, I've got a strong control channel on 867.9125, which is listed as SERS East simoulcast. There has been some talkgroup activity on this channel as well, voice channels have been 868.3 & 868.7.

I've also had talkgroup ID #'s pop up that are not in our list of talkgroup ID's for this system.. (oh my, don't get me going on talkgroup ID #'s again..)

Watch for the training talkgroups to become active first. When you see those talkgroups become active, you'll know that they are doing training for the "new" users. About thirty days after that period, the system will become even more active, as T 68 already advised us in his post above.

Different talkgroups may also become active only for a day or two, when the techs are working with the system / training, etc.

For andrecs and anyone else, it is the SERS policy to provide all TG information, most is already posted here and yes we have added some TG. Since any critical traffic is encrypted there is no need for SERS to be secretive, besides it is a public system. My email at SERS is attached to my user name and I will try to answer any questions folks may have.

Wow, thanks Mark - I sure appreciate that offer of help!

I can't even tell you how refreshing that gesture is after my experience with King County. Absolutely night and day difference. (See this thread: viewtopic.php?t=1038 )

Maybe, for starters, you can tell me if I have the control channels correct? I say this because I have to take back what I wrote above - 867.9125 is actually the control channel for the King County courthouse trunk site - I got them confused because of what was posted here:
http://www.region43.org/docs/800mhz/Cha ... il2005.pdf
Do you guys share channels with them or something?

According to that, it belongs to you guys. But I think I have SERS West Simulcast at 868.3375, East on 868.925 and Deer Creek IR on 868.6625, and I havn't figured out what North Mountain is on yet because I'm too far away.

I would give the folks at King County a bit of a break, they are just following the rules that are given to them. There are folks much higher in the food chain that have nothing to do with radio (other than whats on the dash board of their BMW or has XM in front of it) who are clueless to the fact that most of the information is already available.

The folks here are already listening to us, so why not let them know what they are listening to. Besides, the only radio terrorist I know have a SB or SD associated to them and they have all the inside information anyway.

To answer your questions.

King County, on a non interfernce basis, use some of my Phase 2 channels. So in the case of 868.9250, it is one of my CC's but also used by KC in a confined area.

North Mountain was changed to what we call the Darrington IR, or Gold Hill, it reuses the frequencies that are at Deer Creek.

Happy listening

Hello Mark M,
What name have you folks given to the site I see just north of Granite Falls? I think the locals call it Deer Mountain also other folks also refer to it as Jordan Ridge. We go camping up there from time to time, and know Deputy Greg Razar fairly well (Ocean 30) because he patrols the Forest Service area up the Loop. They have outfitted him with a satellite fone for those teams he heads up valley out of range of the legacy system.

Several people have already replied to your original thread http://www.interceptradio.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4999

And unearthing a thread that is 5 years old is not going to get you any better of an answer.

It's probably best at this point you get yourself a scanner programmed up with the SERS system and dedicate some time to listen and observe. Within a week of doing this you will probably have a decent list of the radio ID numbers Monroe uses.

That would be because nobody has them. You've mentioned your radio decodes them: time to get to work.

Dave this should be a very simple thing for you to figure out, Monroe, Index, Gold Bar and Sultan Police are Snohomish County Sheriffs. They will be on the East Simulcast using talkgroups 1680 for dispatch and 1968 for Tac, any radio IDs you get here could be Monroe as they are Sheriffs and can respond to any where in the County and move from talkgroup to talkgroup "North, South or East".
The thing is to know your city's streets what bars are there ETC. the radio IDs that respond to the greatest amount of calls in Monroe are the radio IDs your looking for. there main job is to work Monroe, but the thing here SCSO has contracts with a lot of city's in the County, so what ever list you come up with will never be 100% because like I said they can and do work the whole County.
I live in Stanwood and have heard South and East units roll this way.

It would be great if you posted a list when you get it, I'm interested in seeing what you find.
