HI All. New on here. Want to get back into scanning. Is an APCO-25 scanner necessary to hear all thats going on in the Seattle, King and Snohomish county area. :?: Thanks all w7ozx

Jerry, in short, no, it's not necessary. It sounds like the digital modes are changing anyway, so it's hard to say that you may not need another radio in the future. The exception I believe is that the new Uniden radios are flash upgradable, so that should help to a point.

If you have money to burn, then go with the best you can afford (296,796) ... otherwise, a decent used Pro-90+ will work just fine. It just depends on what you want to listen to.
