Bellevue area, some sort of infrastructure support crews. This channel is in their handhelds but not their truck radios (which apparently weren't working at the time I heard the discussion).

This had been a WSP datalink, still licensed WNMY654 as such, but now also City of Bellevue KWX567. Could be either WS DOT or Bell PW, I suspect the latter.

The license refers to the old Bellevue PD Dispatch #1 and Records frequencies. I thought I read somewhere that these were being used for water readings but could be wrong.

They sure put out a lot of power... :)

Used to be the old Bellevue PD Dispatch channel with repeaters on Harborview and Tiger. When I was with CHPD we used to always have to have them switch to Harborview if we had a call down by Lake Washington due to not being able to hit the repeater on Tiger.

There's a PUD down there with an IDAS repeater on Rattlesnake (Benton/Yakima Rattlesnake) that was hammering mobiles up in Moses. I called the nim rods that put it in and asked what that thing was putting out as we were measuring something like -80 dBm 50 miles away. He got back to me saying he calculated the ERP to be around 500 watts with PA and antenna gain. Licensed ERP....100 watts.

Guess the whole theory of matching mobile ERP to repeater ERP is a misnomer.

You didn't try tracking the trunked system at BP Cherry Point?

No, not sure I would've been within range anyways.

The 5 person crew (all male) keep referencing 3-digit numbers -- which per their convos, refer to a VAN number. The vans are for kid pickup/transport. Sounds like a rental-radio system (freq is licensed to DAY Wireless out of Enumclaw.) Simplex only.

Probably some kind of temporary new years eve amusement park/setup.

Picking the signal up well from SE Bellevue. (Location is likely downtown Bellevue or Issaquah. Perhaps Seattle if they're using mobile rigs with more power.)
