Does anyone have a idea what kind radios, portable and mobile, the State Patrol uses. Thanks Mike |

In the Olympia area it's a mix. I've seen mainly Motorola mobiles and a mix of different portables. Probably whoever can get them a good deal they go with. |

Currently they have a mixture of Motorola's and Kenwood's but are phasing those units out and are going with a radio system from MA-COM which is a division of Tyco Electronics. You can view the systems at http://www.macom.com or http://www.macom-wireless.com This company was awarded the contract back in July of this year and I have seen acouple of troopers with the new radios (portables) and it is not a bad looking radio. |
