The move will see 444 additional soldiers at Fort Lewis by the end of 2006. An advance party of 15 will arrive next summer to prepare for the move, according to Army planning documents. The 2nd Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment will move to the Northwest from Fort Campbell, Ky. The unit’s helicopters include AH/MH-6 Little Birds, MH-60 Pave Hawks and MH-47E Chinooks. Officials said the Army needs the battalion to train and prepare for deployments with other special operations units at Fort Lewis, including the 1st Special Forces Group and the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. The move “reaffirms that Fort Lewis is one of our most important strategic assets for our nation’s security,†|

That's good info, thanks. Hopefully one of the new helicopters will turn up at an airshow and I can get a picture of a frequency card. |
