Anyone got any good freq's to listen a little to the military goings on over here on the peninsula? |

This webcam points at the south end of the Dabob Bay range, watch for submarines on the surface and monitor the range control freqs 140.525 and 359.5. http://www.drdale.com/cam/index.htm There were some good comms on Sept 28 when the USS Nevada fired some torpedoes http://www.northwestnavigator.com/index ... _exercise/ Also try 374.9 and 347.9. 156.6 is used by Subbase xx when escorting the unterseeboots |

As a side note, I don't know if anyone else saw the following article in the TNT, but if it doesn't make scanning a little bit more exciting, at least it will be cool to see them flying around (however, I am assuming that Matt already has their frequencies ready to go :D) Fort Lewis lands helicopter unit Special operations battalion will bring 444 soldiers by the end of 2006 MICHAEL GILBERT; The News Tribune Last updated: November 23rd, 2004 02:35 AM (PST) The Army is moving a special operations helicopter battalion to Fort Lewis beginning later this year, congressional officials said Monday. The move will see 444 additional soldiers at Fort Lewis by the end of 2006. An advance party of 15 will arrive next summer to prepare for the move, according to Army planning documents. The 2nd Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment will move to the Northwest from Fort Campbell, Ky. The unit’s helicopters include AH/MH-6 Little Birds, MH-60 Pave Hawks and MH-47E Chinooks. Officials said the Army needs the battalion to train and prepare for deployments with other special operations units at Fort Lewis, including the 1st Special Forces Group and the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. The move “reaffirms that Fort Lewis is one of our most important strategic assets for our nation’s security,†|

That's good info, thanks. Hopefully one of the new helicopters will turn up at an airshow and I can get a picture of a frequency card. |
