:? would like to get a list of Olympia, Lacey, and Tumwater working fire frequencies. I always hear them being dispatched with a working frequency such as 5, 6, 8 ect. but i am unable to find these frequencies anywhere, any help is appreciated.

PS is there any active groups that get together to exchange ideas and info in the Olympia area about scanners?

This is how we do it. We dispatch all of the county fire districts, Lacey fire dist. 3, and notify the PVT ambulance companies on Fire 1 154.430. We dispatch Olympia Fire on Fire 2 154.370 and Tumwater fire department on Fire 3 153.800. Olympia and Tumwater stay on their dispatch frequencies while all the county districts and Lacey go to a response frequency. Fire 5 which is 150.775 transmit and 154.010 on recieve is the response frequency for east county. Fire 6 which is for west county is 150.805 for transmit and 154.175 on recieve. Those are the main frequencies used for fire response for Thurston County.

Dispatches are unit needing to respond first, level of response, what it's for, address with cross street, response frequency, repeat the information, give the time and finally the appropriate call sign.

Example: Engine 31 Medic 3 ALS for a bleed (address / cross street) on fire 5. (repeat that information), time out (current time) KQT456.

We have no near future plans on moving to trunked or narrow band, but I know narrow band has been talked about. So you might see that change in the next 5 years or so, just a guess haven't heard anything solid.

When I first got into scanning, I used to hear the Seattle Fire Dept. say

80YR old male/female "SOB" I heard many seattle calls witht he term SOB. So one day I had a chance to ask a firefighter what they ment by SOB. and he told me Shortness of breath!

SOB, I always laugh when I get to say that and mastur**** on the air...The little joys in my job :-)...In Thurston County for the police side HBD is the has been drinking from the earlier post, for what ever reason, AOB is the same thing but on the fire side...Alcohol on Breath. I don't know why they don't just make it the same.
