Heard some SAR communications today in King County. Most of the comms I heard from Explorer Search & Rescue (ESAR) were on 145.1100 (127.3), but at one point I heard them say go to "County F3" and another time I heard a mention of going to ESAR Hi-Band. Any ideas as to what the frequencies are for these. Also heard King County 4x4 Rescue come on 154.9650 (123.0) breifly but they switched channels and havent been heard since. Im assuming there is probably simplex usage. I am amazed I have heard anything since I am listening from Victoria... I have picked around this website and have found a few frequencies for the various King County SAR agencies... does anybody happen to have a larger list of these? |

King County "F-3" is the 153.755, and it is simplex. Five years or more ago, they used to use it for County Wide paging of County employees (old Pageboy voice pagers, and some Minitor/Director pagers) and for field simplex operations. A few King County SO vehicles still have VHF radios in them, and use these "old" frequencies for Special Ops. I'm not so sure about ESAR high band....they used to be using low band stuff until recently. 4x4 Rescue can use either 47.660 or 155.175 (both simplex). Brad. |

There was an incident Sunday on the north side of Tiger Mtn. That's pretty much line-of-sight to the Victoria area; much of the Issaquah Alps has great coverage of southern Vancouver Island stations. CBC Radio 2 comes in nicely all the way down to Mt Rainier - where's its transmitter? FlashP |

There are several different transmitter sites for CBC Radio 2 in BC... 2 in Victoria (1 is in the Metchosin / Sooke area - possibly Mt.Helmcken) and the other is somewhere else in Victoria. Which frequency do you hear it on? |

I can get both frequencies near I-90, but the lower one (92.1??) carries farther south. A nice alternative when KING falters ... |
