Dan is a classic. He's on grave yard right now for KCSO. He can be on any of the 4 precincts as well as Metro.

I don't work for KCSO but know guys who do...my favorite so far was:

-Charlie Zero
-Go Ahead
-If I were at the summit and I wanted pancakes, where would I go?
-Uh the Pancake House?
-Very good! I have a detail for you there...

Dan's Partial Schedule...(2300-0700 PST)

Sundays: KCSO NORTH
Thursdays: KCSO SOUTHEAST

He's aware that he has a few loyal fans listening out for him and after 42 plus years at the same job, still enjoys it. He taught me the fine art telling a cop where to go in more ways than one on a taped talkgroup and totally getting away with it. I'll let him know y'all said hi.

Heard from Operator 18 several years back on Southeast Radio:

"Frank 3 and Frank 4 for a Mother/Son Domestic - Mother attempting a retroactive abortion on her son"

Priceless..

Post subject:  *** Retirement ***

Mark your calendars, program your recorders...Dan's last day at work is September 30th, 2300-0700 after which he will finally be hanging up his headset. For those that don't know him, Dan has been working for KCSO since 1966 and is truly one of a kind.

Now as to whether administration will let him anywhere near a radio console on his last day which would allow him to say how he REALLY feels has yet to be determined.

It could be interesting.

So his shift starts at 2300 on Sunday night (9/30) and ends at 0700 on Monday morning? Any idea what TG he'll be on?

Someone needs to record the highlights of this historic broadcast for those of us unable to listen in.

Correct and no idea. IF they let him near a console, he would be on North, SEast or SWest. It may be fun/wise to listen on Saturday 9/29 at 2300 as well.
