The name is "Rural/Metro" Pacific Northwest a division of a nationwide company out of the Scottsdale - Phoenix, AZ. area. They took over Shannon Ambulance and serve the Southwest Snohomish / North King County area on 155.28. They also serve Tacoma, University Place, Lakewood and Puyallup in Pierce County. ----- Now you can help fill in the blank spaces -- for the group. What's the frequency ?? I am told they have a company channel for Pierce County as well as being on the Tacoma Trunked system. I am almost sure that they use the County Fire channels when responding outside of Tacoma. What ever happened to the Lakewood Ambulance Company ??? MTM standing bye.

If you're thinking of Superior Ambulance, I think they were bought out by Hill Ambulance, who bought Powers, who was bought out by Shepard, who was bought out by AMR.

As for the Everett area, I think Rick and/or Flash found them on a trunked system for their company traffic. I haven't listened to their company freqs for quite some time but here's the last info on them that is on the Snohomish County page, under business, for them ~
"Rural Metro ambulance is on a 900mhz Motorola trunk
935.3375 935.350 935.3625 935.375 talkgroup 4816"

Maybe the SERS folks can help out. I hear Rural Metro on the Everett Fire talkgroup(s). When I watch with the Trunker program, however, it appears they that they don't have the 800-meg radios so I assume RM is talking on the VHF freq and that is patched into the 800 system? I assume this to be the case because I noticed that 4-5 different Rural Metro units over the course of the day had the same individual radio ID on the trunking system instead of each radio having a different ID.

:D Thanks Dennis. Sounds like they might be using a Trunked SMR service in Pierce County as well. The VHF channels you refer to -- are the County Fire Channels - that are simulcast on the Snohomish County 800 trunked system and NOT the 155.28 ? Mike

Mike,
I rarely listen to fire traffic outside city of Everett unless I'm driving thru a different area so all I can say is this -- I hear RM on the old Everett fire dispatch 154.385 . I haven't listened to 155.28 in a long time but I'll try it out to see what I hear.

For areas outside City of Everett, I'm not sure how RM communicates with the trunking system, Maybe some SERS folks can clarify?
