Hello All,

I live in Federal Way and can hear WSP frequencies from both District 1 and 2. However, I get a lot of local interference here on 155.580. Can anyone tell me if this repeater is just used for Seattle and north or if I would miss a lot of things down here if I dropped it from my scan when I'm home? Also, I get some local interference on 154.905, one of the Pierce County WSP car to car freqs. How busy is this channel--I might lock it out if not?

Sorry to ask so many questions but I am just learning to scan these systems up here and need to learn all of the ins and outs.

Thanks much.

WSP uses 154.680 for District 2 South - basically all south of I-90. I was just through there last night and got the same interference on the north freq. As for Tacoma I have heard some activity on the car-car channel (154.905) but not too much...I think the troopers are using CBs or Nextels.

Good luck and let me know what you find as I visit the south sound frequently :)

Hi Charlie,

I may have inadvertently put a couple of blank replies in this forum--getting used to the methods. <GRIN> Anyway, thanks much for the information on 155.580. I'll take it out of my home scan. That will make it much easier to listen.

There is a lot to learn with learning trunking and what talk groups or regular repeaters are and are not being used, etc.

Again, thanks for your help. I'll let you know what I find out if it seems to be new info.

For the Tacoma offices c/c, try 155.445.

155.445 in Olympia too, I've never heard anything on the 154.905. But sometimes on the 155.46. 155.97 & 155.445 especially when they're doing aircraft speed enforcement. Yaba

Thanks much for that. When I tried 155.455, it wouldn't take in the scanner and I realized it might have been a misprint. I'll give 155.445 a try.

Again, thanks.

In Tumwater I hear: F-1 155.970 Air, F-3 155.580 King North, F-4 155.520 Pierce West, F-7 154.680 King South, F-12 155.460 Car 2, F-14 155.850 Lewis Co., F-15 154.665 Kitsap/Mason Co., F-16 154.695 Grays Harbor/Pacific, F-19 154.920 Olympia Dispatch, F-30 155.445 Car 1, and F-31 154.740 Pierce East all on my Pro-95 with stock antenna. I have all the channels programmed in a bank in order so my channel 016 would be 154.695 for example. There are some good sales coming up on scanners soon. Better than listening to commercials!

I've got all of those and now the 155.445. It's not as interesting to listen to them as to the locals but nice when you're on the road.

Thanks again and enjoy. I am really liking my Pro-95 so far. Take care
