It's a new system we implemented called Priority Dispatch.

OMEGA = VERY Minor BLS = Medical / Service Call = Fire
ALPHA = Minor BLS (Used to be BLS-Routine) / Minor Fire Situation
BRAVO = BLS / Moderate Fire Situation
CHARLIE = ALS - Not time critical / Priority Fire Situation
DELTA = ALS - Time Critical / Major Fire Situation
ECHO = Life Critical

Those are rough translations, we use 33 different cards for medical and 25 cards for fire. Went from 40 type codes to 1200.

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Hmm, that's interesting. Kind of goes against the whole "plain english" model that NIMS and the feds like.

Maybe we should all go back to "Ten Codes" too.

Why not just call it like it is?

This system was actually written by people on the NIMS boards. It's used in 3,000 + centers in 20 countries.

Works for us.
