Hello All theses were posted if I recall maybe a couple years ago, I was unable to find them they were freqs for the sismic recorders at the U W

Well, I have them here somewhere but they will be over five years old and I don't know if they changed since then. I did a search on the FCC website and found 13 low power frequencies in the 219Mhz band and wonder if they didn't go up there. I remember they used to be in the 161 range though. All you could hear was a tone, unless something started moving. My list had the frequency of each station so that would really be helpful and I'm hoping I didn't accidentally toss them out...
The ones I had were for the U.W. stations, which are what you want.
Meanwhile SOMEONE out there should still have that list! I'm interested in reacquiring it too.

YEA i THINK YOUR WRITE, i THINK THEY WERE IN THE 161.XXX range up too 167.xxx but thanks for the help, when I lived in Calieefornia I made my on sismograph using the freqs thought I would try again! 8)

Just a note to keep everyone on track. The U of W uses FCC licensed frequencies and the USGS uses Federal frequencies. The frequencies above 162 mhz to 174 Mhz are USGS frequencies. Maybe one list of all such frequencies is needed.

Note that one freq had a number of tones associated specifically with the
seismograph at a specific station location.

162.125 GSM , FMW , GHW , LMW
162.175 RMW
162.200 GMW, RVC, MEW, CPW, RER, BLN, STW

Also heard but not identified were:
163.605 164.845 and 165.810

Rem: This is 1996 info and I haven't listened to them since then. I believe each station transmits 100mw and has a horizontally polarized beam so you need to be almost line of sight to hear it.

Let me know if anyone has info more current than this.

I just looked up the station number that I posted and I only see two of them in place now. In addition, I read an article where the stations they are using at St. Helens are combination GPS, seismic, laser-height sensing combinations with what appeared to be a satellite uplink on them. There was no specific information regarding satellite uplink but the picture led me to believe that they were either doing that or beaming out up in the Ghz range. Maybe 2.4Ghz. So I think our days of monitoring that stuff are gone.
Anyone else have better info?
