Hello all, At the Fair friday I was looking at the WSP'S rigs on display one of the cars had a 800MHz antenna on board, the troopers their did not know what they were for let alone how they worked! they also have a antenna that lookslike a CB antenna! I don't listen too them enough to know what bands they are using!
Thanks for any help

Most troops,,,,i'd say all but i don't know if thats true.. have CB radios in their cars. They use the CBs to talk with truckers. Thats the primary use of the CB radio. The only thought of the 800mhz is it could be a cell phone antenna that they used at one time. Along the i-5 corridor they use labtops, it may be a data antenna. The crusiers with a bunch of antennas on the top is usually low-jack...but the troop knows if they have a lowjack device. And there aren't a lot of troops that have them.

All of the state troopers in Okanogan County Have CBs in there cars and most of the time they either have on channel 19 or 9 (the emergency Channel) alot of the time they use cb to talk to the sheriff deputys about huntingf fishing and whatever on cb channels so they will not let the brass hear them.

I've only ever seen one WSP car with an 800 antenna on it, and that was connected to a TT scanner...But then the trooper would know if he had a scanner.
