Strange noises heard, interrupted occasionally, but for most of the morning from 0400L until now, someone having fun or trying, and I am not sure how successfully, to get something tuned up. Just before the carrier would drop, the razz would "degenerate" into a 1Kc tone, then nothing for less than a second.

Signal level was too weak for Kitsap County LE4 so don't know what King County was up to??? Maybe trying to get the audio right on their "patch" to 800Mhz???

Odd there were no station IDs :!: Not even a "Radio Service Test"

For those "mere mortals" lurking here, that frequency as mentioned above was hijacked some years ago by Kitsap County... and is currently
designated "LE 4"

Since "King County had it first" they still use it as their "OES F2"
on those occasions when they need to yak at Search and Rescue teams and such. At that time Kitsap county "shuts down" LE 4...

I heard the "jamming" at just after 0400, and then again just after 0600, on 154.9650 MHz. with 123.0 Hz.

I was unable to hear a matching signal on the input/153.9950 MHz., nor the input to the 800 MHz. channel (866.3875) that the signal was camped on, but I'm in Federal Way, and between geography and terrain, it's highly probible that I would not have been able to hear a signal on either input.

With an active SAR Mission in Burien, I feel that the use of a signal generator was not coming from an authorized source, that someone attempting to "tune-up" a radio and/or antenna would have waited until after the conclusion of the Mission.

Well this proves I wasn't imagining it!

Input for the Kitsap-flavored 154.965 is 158.790.

Likewise, the home QTH is not in a good position for SIGINT as it
is situated in a negative HAAT! (or, for positive-minded people who understand made-up acronyms, anHBAT:!: :bowrofl:

I know it is 1500 ish, but its been razzing away since around 1400 local,
and not heard past 10 or so minutes...

What IS this thing.... You would think that because it is a GOVERNMENT
used frequency that this would have been taken care of by now...
