Dispatched by NORCOM now - on the "old" Kirkland PD Dispatch TG of 19472. That's now called "NC Police 2", or "Norcom Police 2".

18928 is now the new "NC Police 3", for future expansion.

Brad.

NORCOM now dispatches for the police departments of Bellevue, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Medina, and Clyde Hill.

They continue to dispatch ALL of the fire departments that Eastside Communications used to dispatch.

They are housed in the 7th floor of Bellevue City Hall - the same spot as Eastside Communications. Same facility, most of the same faces (plus the old Kirkland dispatchers).

A lot of Bellevue, Kirkland, and a Mercer Island TG's were absorbed into the NORCOM Police Talkgroup plan, and simply re-named....most of the agencies have re-programmed their portables and mobiles to reflect the change (Bellevue PD has not - their radio shop is tasked to do it, but it's a big job).

The NC TAC channels (11 thru 16) can be used by any user agency for a specific tast (event, surveillance, tactical incident), and will be assigned by NORCOM

Here's the new lineup:

NC POL 1 (Used to be BEL-1)
NC TAC 1 (Used to be BEL-2)
NC DATA (Used to be Bel REC)
NC C/C 1 (Used to be BEL C/C)
NC POL 2 (Used to be Kirk Disp)
NC TAC 2 (Used to be Kirk C/C)
NC C/C 2 (Used to be Kirk Traffic)
NC POL 3 (Used to be MI Disp)
NC TAC 3 (Used to be Kirk Tac-2)
NC C/C 3 (Used to be Kirk Tac-3)
NC TAC 11 (Used to be Bel Tac 1)
NC TAC 12 (Used to be Bel Tac 2)
NC TAC 13 (Used to be Bel Event)
NC TAC 14 (Used to be Bel SET)
NC TAC 15 (Used to be Bel Traffic)
NC TAC 16 (Used to be Bel Det)

  :?

Oy. Time to update the radios I guess. :(

Thanks for the update Brad. I thought the dispatchers for 19472 sounded very similar to 21424.

there were some TG that just "disappeared" ie M/I 18896 records, is that just a "dead" channel now or put somewhere else?

Mercer Island PD retained control of that talkgroup - I don't know what they plan on doing with it. I understand that it's still in their radios, and available for their use.

Does MIPD still have VHF marine radios in their cars?

I'm updating my P500 files and will post them when done...

Thanks VERY much for the info.

I'll start listening in and see if I can figure it out, but thought I'd throw it out here anyway.

In the mapping above, you had the "Used to be" channel names - does that mean the agencies still reside on those channels?

In other words, is NC POL1 a dedicated dispatch channel for Bellevue? Pol2 for Kirkland, Pol3 for Mercer Island?

I assume that Redmond/Carnation/Duvall are all still dispatched by Redmond PD, and unaffected?
Ditto for Issaquah and Snoqualmie PD, dispatched by Issaquah?

Thanks!

On a related note, who dispatches Bothell/Lake Forest Park?

I never listen to them so don't know if my data is any good....

The "Used to be" is strictly a reference to the Talkgroup "tag" - what it used to be, and what it is now. Has nothing to do with it's usage in the NORCOM system.

However:

NC Police 1 = Bellevue, Clyde Hill, Medina PD's

NC Police 2 = Kirkland, Mercer Island PD's

NC Police 3 = Future Expansion Agencies.

The associated TAC and C/C channels are for the respective agencies using the Police 1/2/3 channels. The NC Data channel will eventually be a dedicated data service for all NORCOM user agencies.

At this point, Issaquah PD dispatch operations remains unchanged. Redmond PD Dispatch also remains unchanged.

Bothell PD is unchanged, and continues to dispatch Lake Forest Park PD on the Bothell Dispatch TG.
