Heard a troop "switching to Creston" last night leaving Spokane area. It's not an extension of Lind/ Steptoe is it? Or Ephrata? TIA |

Heard Creston being discussed on a WSP channel a couple of weeks ago. It seems they were having radio trouble with another site and Creston was the alternate. I think it was on 154.8450 S (CSQ) and I got from the conversation it was something not often done (using Creston) for whatever reason. I cannot recall the name of the site with issues. |

That's the Lind/ Steptoe. I'm wondering what is used when they drop into the Columbia out that way. |

It would depend where they drop down on the Columbia at. Could be Wenatchee, Ephrata, Yakima, Kennewick, etc. |

Good point. (Duh on me). SR21 north from SR2. 'Republic' is way up the canyon. 'Blue Creek' might work.?. Just heard car2/Spokane; -this repeater sucks I miss the old radio system. The M/A-COMs are problematic I hear. |

If they are headed north on SR 21, then they would switch to Republic on 154.665. This is a simplex frequency. |

About 20+ yrs. ago, I heard one of the dispatchers from Spokane talking to a troop out of Moses Lake, who now happens to be in Spokane [855]. He had been called out to an accident in the middle of the night somewhere up in the area of NE Grant County (I think it was near Coulee). They identified the transmit site as "Creston" and the freq was 158.790... which used to be the old Game Dept freq and also used as a input freq for the repeaters on State Common. I never could hear the output on State so I figured it was down in a hole somewhere. I believe 158.790 is now pretty much their Pager frequency in most areas. Just some info about Creston! |

TMF, I remember 855 well. He investigated an accident I was in back in the mid 80's. Always liked him. Didn't realize he is now in Spokane. He should be close to retirement. |

Yep...he should be! I met him when I lived down there in the 80's then saw him again not to long after he came to Spokane in the 90's when he and another troop came and visited a guy who had retired from the Patrol and came to work with us. George should have at least 25 yrs in by now. He works the north beat there in Spokane. |
