I haers some traffic on 155.415 this week and it sounded like DEM tactical call signs. How long has DEm been using this frequency? It used to be a tactical channel for the Snohomish County Sheriff. |

I was hearing that on Tuesday, with a PL of 127.3. Kept hearing "SnoHawk", which I thought was the Sno County Helo. Only listened with half an ear, so I have nothing further. |

Used for SAR ops (& car to car) for a long time. It's plausible DEM is authorized for it. |

Once Snohomish County Sheriff completed their transition to 800mhz, they turned over that frequency and the 159.210 (old South dispatch) to Sno County SAR, to establish a repeater system around the county. They now have several repeaters up to support their operations, and it's not beyond reason to think that the Sno Co DEM will piggy back on that system at times, when they have to support each other at an incident. The repeater sites are mostly located at SERS (800mhs) sites, and each uses a different PL for access. Darrington, Index, and Fraley come to mind, but not sure. I believe most of them can be patched into the 800 system by SNOPAC. I'm going to lunch today with some of those guys - will find out how many they have on the air now. |

I was hearing it repeated, but way too far south to look for an input (I was in the Clearwater Wilderness near Mt Rainier NP). In any case, the traffic was 5x5 (though I was at 4650' MSL). |
