| Post subject: | Encrypted talkgroups ? |
I've been running Trunk88 and been seeing really high TGID's like 60022 and stuff (just made that up) which are not listed in any database, and i've never heard before. I'm seeing a number of radios on these talkgroups. Will a scanner pickup any noise or stop on a TGID that is encrypted ? or will it just not pick it up at all ? |

I used to listen to Tacoma Police Tac channels but once they switched on encryption I stopped seeing the Talk IDs come up on my scanner |

icall and broadcast there is math that you can apply to figure this out Taco has a post or a wiki page or a link page if you look around, he will also likely reply with it you can learn how and why the ID's come about. |

65520 is the highest allowed talkgroup. Anything else is probably a radio ID. |
