I tried to line the columns up so they could be easily read. It didn't work. The columns are as follows:

Name Receive Tone Transmit Tone Comments

Sorry, but I tried.

Thanks Gampawayne for lots of good info on the coast.

I really enjoy visiting there and the freqs and their users can be confusing out there.

I believe OS Fire is F8.

Thank you Jim. You are absolutely correct re Ocean Shores. I have edited the original posting to reflect Ocean Shores as F8. I don't like to receive bad info let alone post incorrect information. Thanks again for the correction.

Ocean Shores station 74 is located at:

676 Pt. Brown Way NW
Ocean Shores

Units are designated as 74XX. Pictures and actual numbers are located on their website.

I have been told, but haven't been able to verify that paramedic service for the North Beach area is provided from/by the Ocean Shores Fire Department. Can anyone verify this?

Speaking of Ocean Shores. Does anyone know what freq they use to set off the
tsunami warning alarms on the beach there?

I wonder if it is NOAA or the National Weather Service or ???

I think it is NOAA.

See this link http://nctr.pmel.noaa.gov/education/ITT ... K_hill.pdf

I believe the tsunami alarm is set off by a signal sent by the Natioinal Weather Service
from Olympia. The same as the one that alerts for wind storms and floods.
It is a special data sent to activate these alarms just like regular weather radios
are activated. 162.475 MHz for Ocean Shores. The one at Long Beach is received from
the NWS transmitter in Astoria, Or on 162.400 MHz.

I don't know the frequencies but I do know the code(s) they use to activate the alarms thanks to KIRO NEWS! It looks like he is using VHF because all they use is VHF...

Maybe I am doing something wrong but I don't get anything from the KIRO link above?

I remember the Westport PD would switch to the fire channel whenever an aid call went out back in the 80's. My brother was the paramedic for South Beach until the city pulled out the funding. The temp freq switch had something to do with only one channel could be monitored at a time with the console.

The frequency sheet that fire uses still shows a shared channel with Westport PD.

The other thing which has happened in Grays Harbor County, at least on the fire side is that they have gone to narrow band. The troops are not happy. A couple have told me they can receive and talk to Aberdeen (Harbor dispatch) without a problem. They say they can't talk to each other on a call or anywhere else for that matter.

Hard to say if that's a narrowband problem or something else like simulcasting. I know in Thurston Co, 2 fire chiefs in different ends of the county have told me they think the fire radio system is crap.
