Not sure if they are still there but crews were fighting a brush/tree fire on SR 410. I drove by about 5:00 and saw Engines 11, 13, Brush 11, Medic 13, Chief 101, 102, 103, Battalion 11, 2 Department of Resources Trucks, 2 dot incident response team trucks, 1 dot incident response team supervisor, 2 pse power company trucks, 2 dnr helicopters and a truck delivering porta potties. Wildfire is big business. They had some going along I-5 farther south, DNR channels were busy until dark. Flash |

Do you guys know the cost of air ops? It's into the tens of thousands of dollars per hour to use it. As of Wednesday night around 7 pm somewhere in the neighborhood of $112,000 had been spent on the Oak Creek Fire for air fire fighting efforts...I want a hell-e-copter and a huge-ass bucket o' water to make that much money! :hitit: |
