Post subject:  Air Show - August - Freqs?

Howdy,

I hear that we'll have a lot of air traffic this weekend around Puget Sound. The Blue Angels are the highlight.

What frequencies are varified for this traffic? Each year, I try to locate good frequencies, and only get a vague answer - does anyone in our Puget Sound have a list of active Blue Angel frequencies? What about general Sea Fair frequencies?

Thank you for helping out...

Hit Monitoring Times http://www.monitoringtimes.com/html/mtairshows.html They usually have the best list for the national stuff. As far as I've monitored they haven't hit town yet - which is a surprise. Usually at least #7 (pr) is here?

Do an fcc search on Seafair they have 15 or so licensed in the business band 462-470 most on a 12.5 offset. I don't

I posted a long message a few weeks back that had all the stuff from 2000-2002 Most of it will be the same. Disreguard the Monitoring Times (year old and really long) and the blue angles as they have changed freq's.

Roger. I'll program those in. I hope their transmissions are strong enough for me to hear over here on the western shores of Hood Canal.

I've not tried that before - I gather that I go to the FCC website and find a database search form?? I'll go try that.

So, disregard the older MT list?? or the one above that you just sent me to?

Thanks for the quick reply!

The web site I gave you has the new stuff for the Blue's My post had the old freq's.

You will hear most of the show. From Port Townsend I hear everything except when they are on the deck for a low run.

Matt,

Is 163 a typo? 169? All I hear is the Ballard Locks. All others are great catches. 305.5 was an alternate when the solos were
getting interference on 237.8.

Thanks,
Flash

That was 163.0, I haven't heard anything on that since Wednesday. Friday morning Seafair Control was doing radio checks on 118.975 and 121.625 "Secondary"
There are two Davis Monthan A-10's parked next to the Blue Angels, probably DEMO 51 and 52 that landed Thursday afternoon.

Two more air freqs
123.15 HOG 1 (A-10) and MUSTANG 1 (P-51)
239.00 SCARS 01 (C-130) and DZSO Drop Zone Safety Officer

118.975 seems to be the Seafair Control primary

Over here in Brinnon, WA, I am hearing traffic on the control (118.975) - but I am not hearing any other traffic on the other frequencies.

What times are the Angels flying?

I have heard "red barron" and I heard some traffic during a stunt flight...
"now, rudder left" and someone "had a birthday"...

Lucky us. Tomorrow is a high show. Add 5000 to 6000 feel on some of tomorrows transmissions. Today was a low show and I was able to photo some very low passes. On one low pass I couldn't find #6 because he was so low over the water. I was about 200 feet or less and I was looking down!

Add boat tender freq of 27.285 for the tenders inside the log boom.
